The Lodge Maribaya

River Cikahuripan

Bandung also has its own Grand Canyon although it is pretty hidden, located at River Cikahuripan and only about one kilometre away from the entrance of Cikahuripan tourism spot. The view of this hidden canyon is amazing and Instagram-worthy. Its path is dominated by giant rocks. There are two towering cliffs at this canyon about 10 meters high. This canyon has 100 metre wide from one side to another and it’s not very large but enough to amaze any visitor. The water of CIkahuripan river itself is pristine and chill. It is like watching a pond full of crystal with how the water glistening and blinking from time to time. 

The Lodge Maribaya

This hidden gem in Bandung is where you get to experience an adventure in wonderful nature. The surprise is that this place is man-made. The Lodge Maribaya is a man-made adventure camp with higher standard service than just camping or hiking activities. This is where your adventure experiences is elevated to another level. This place itself is surrounded by pine forests, Maribaya waterfalls, and mountain scenery. All necessary refreshments are provided to every guest prior, during and after your escape to the nature. This is a hidden place in Bandung where you get to witness the weeping rocks. The most interesting part of this place is the weeping rocks. It is actually a rare geological phenomenon where a small notch on the Earth’s plate was formed by tectonic movements, causing underground water to pour from the cracks into the rocks. Hence, it creates a weeping sound when it is actually can be explained through science. But still, it is such a haunting experience since it is located in such a hidden location, surrounded by the forest. 

Leuwi Jurig, Garut

Garut is still part of Bandung and also a favorite city to visit by domestic travelers. There are many wonderful locations to visit presented by the amazing Mother Nature. One of the most interesting places is Leuwi Jurig or translated into the Satan Pond. The place is not as scary as its name. In fact, this bathing pond has gorgeous view that make you believe in higher power. Locals believe that if you bath in this pond, all bad luck surrounding you will be vanished. Even if you don’t believe it, you can simply enjoy the emerald green pond that is surrounded by luscious greenery.
