Especially during this pandemic where travelling is quite limited, road trip can be a great alternative for you who want to have a vacation but stay safe from the risk of getting infected by the covid-19. You can have a road trip to explore many local destinations with your favorite car. It is even more amazing if you can keep it clean throughout the road trips. Is it possible?

Keeping a clean car during road trips

It is essential to know that you need to have your car checked before going for a road trip. Have professional checked the car’s condition for you if you are not quite familiar with it. Then, it is also essential that you keep your nice car clean throughout the road trips to keep you comfortable and here are several tips to consider:

Give your car a good wash prior the trip

It is a must to start with washing your car prior the trip itself. Aside from the cleaning of the outer parts, you also need to clean the interior of your car to make sure everything is squeaky clean. It is even more crucial if you are planning to store many items for the trip inside your car. It should be clean, spacious, and tidy. It will be easier for you to organize everything that needs to be packed for the trip. 

Bring some cleaning essentials with you

It is probably impossible for your car to stay clean and organized for the entire trip. You will need to clean and organize it from time to time. Hence, it will be helpful if you have few key items of cleaning essentials on hand. For example, you can bring a box of small waste basket liners to gather trash between pit stops. Also, bring some disinfectant wipes to clean up any spills or wipe sticky hands. Then, pack a bottle of spray with solution water or stain remover to deal with grease spots that may accour during the trip. 

Try to implement some rules

If you travel with a group in your car, try applying some rules such as ‘no food in the car’. if you dislike spills, you can also apply ‘no condiment and clear drinks only’ rules. At least the stains left won’t be as bad and can be easily cleaned with wipes or stain remover you packed. If you don’t like the smell of certain foods or drinks, apply the ‘no eating xx  or drink xx in the car’ rule.

Set the time to clean

Try not to spend the entire of the trip cleaning your car. Remember to enjoy the trip yourself. You can clean your car during a stop to the gas station for example. Let our car messy a little bit and don’t be too bother with it because you will have it cleaned again later.
