In the past, travelers’ main concerns were usually about forgetting to bring sunscreen, passport, clean underwear, and so on. Today though, it is a bit different since the pandemic. There are new sets of concerns when it comes to travelling now due to the coronavirus. Stay-at home orders are gradually lifted in many places around the world. People now can begin travelling either for business or leisure. However, there are strategies and procedures that need to be followed in order to travel safely.

Many people are still scared to go outside because the pandemic has not truly stopped in several places around the world. The spread is still going. However, it is still safer to stay at home unless you are really required to go somewhere. 

Staying safe during travel in the mids of global pandemic requires common-sense precautions. It doesn’t mean you should be panic through your entire trip. You just have to do what you have to do to minimize the risks of infection. It is not only to protect yourself but also your family and other people. There are things you need to do before travel:

First, it is strongly advised to study up before you go. You need to study your airline, hotel, as well as transportation you are going to use. This way, you know what kind of precautions to take before you go. Also, it is important to know the situation in your destination beforehand. If the are is highly affected by the pandemic, you may need to look for another alternative. 

It is wise to bring your own necessities such as neck-pillow or mini blanket if you are going to have a long trip. You can also pack your own foods and drinks so you don’t have to buy it in the middle of your trip. Bring other necessities for sanitation such as wet wipes and hand-sanitizer.

If it is possible, choose a route where you can avoid having connecting flights. If you have connecting flights, it means you have to spend time in another airport, hence increase the risk of contact with the virus. The less location you spend time with during your trip, it is safer.

You don’t necessarily have to cover your body from head to toe. However, it is safe to cover up for your trip. Wear comfortable clothes that can make you breathe and move without problems. Always wear a mask. As mentioned that you have to have common-sense precautions. Do not touch your face carelessly. Avoid physical contacts with other people as much as possible. 

Another thing that you need for safe travel during global pandemic is to stay calm. If you keep panicking throughout the trip, you may get sick. Stress can cause headache and other discomforts you don’t want to experience during your trip. Thus, take necessary precautions and stay calm. This way, you most likely to have smooth journey on your trip.
