Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have reportedly been snubbed by their close friend Oprah Winfrey. The legendary talk show host celebrated her 69th birthday over the weekend in Los Angeles, but the royal couple were not invited.

Winfrey and the Sussexes have been close friends in the past, and she was even invited to their wedding. The couple also decided to sit down with her for a candid interview after leaving their roles as working royals. The couple trusted Winfrey to reveal their story after they quit their royal duties. In an interview with Winfrey in early 2021, Prince Harry and Meghan claimed that a member of Harry’s family had expressed concern about the skin color of their son Archie during Meghan’s pregnancy. This sparked accusations of racism against the royal family.

However, in a recent interview with ITV’s Tom Bradby, Prince Harry denied making such allegations and declined to mention the “skin color” incident in his memoir, Spare. This has led to criticism of Winfrey, with one columnist writing that Harry’s recent actions made her look foolish.

According to royal commentator Kara Kennedy, writing for The Spectator, the Sussexes may have lost favor among their Hollywood A-list friends due to their recent actions. Kennedy suggests that Prince Harry “made her (Oprah) look stupid” with his recent remarks about the monarchy in support of his new book, Spare. Kennedy also notes that some A-listers are concerned that the couple might reveal their personal information, leading to them being left off celebrity guest lists.

This latest snub shows that the tide is turning against the Sussexes, and their “gamble” to move to the US has not paid off, according to Kennedy. She also notes previous reports that A-listers are avoiding the couple due to their “capacity to share.”

Despite being left out of Oprah’s birthday bash, the event was well-attended by other A-list stars, including Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez, Priyanka Chopra, and Sharon Stone. The event was organized by skincare company Anastasia Beverly Hills in honor of its 25th anniversary.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s recent snub by Oprah Winfrey highlights the difficulties they have faced since leaving their roles as working royals. The couple’s “loud mouths” are being used against them, and their move to the US has not paid off as they had hoped. The Sussexes may have to re-evaluate their public image and reconsider their approach if they hope to regain the support and friendship of their former A-list friends.

After the recent allegations made by Prince Harry, Oprah Winfrey has excluded the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from her birthday celebration. Find out what caused the rift between these former close friends.
